Time Compressor, 2020
Conde’s works are based on a deep conceptual research. The artist adopts cross-disciplinary strategies with a great ethical, social and ecological commitment. His projects show a strong concern for the inner workings of perception and collective memory.
“Art is a quest for a new, improved ethos.”
The quest to know how they are shaped by architecture, urban planning and landscape is vital. With classic archaeological methods, Jorge Conde re-interprets the cityscape and creates imaginary sites built upon traces from the past, fieldwork and archival materials, and online resources.
