Tobias Nussbaumer (born 1987 in Basel, Switzerland) creates work that combines drawing and site-specific installation. He uses fragments from his archives to build virtual spaces using animation software and machine-learning models. The digital results are reworked and transformed into hand-drawn pieces in black coloured pencil and ink on paper. In exhibitions, Tobias Nussbaumer extends his drawings into the venue’s architecture, creating immersive settings that interweave memory, technology, and time, while probing the fragility of perception.
