For Untitled Miami, we are delighted to showcase a captivating live performance by artist Ben Arpea, transforming our booth into a dynamic, ephemeral atelier throughout the fair. During this unique event, Arpea will begin work on four canvases, which will be completed and made available for purchase—offering collectors a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to witness and acquire pieces born in real time.
At the heart of Arpea’s artistic practice lies a profound connection to the Mediterranean aesthetic, which deeply influences his exploration of color and material. His paintings, imbued with vivid textures and tones, invite contemplation on our relationship with our environment.
Arpea’s creative process is inherently tactile and sensory, beginning with his meticulous preparation of jute or linen canvases. He enriches his paints with mineral elements such as sand and pebbles, resulting in evocative, large-scale compositions.
